Welcome to Ride Repairs
My name is Dan Brent. Following my training as an auto mechanic, I then went on to become a bicycle mechanic and have since accrued over 20 years of experience in the Australian bicycle industry. I have led the service departments of some of Sydney’s leading bicycle stores and have served as a consultant to government cycling bodies and training facilities.
One of my key roles was as Head Mechanic & Service Centre Manager at the prestigious Clarence Street Cyclery in Sydney’s CBD,where I spent 10 years. During this time, I also served as the Technical Director of Customer Service and Warranty for Trek Bicycles Australia, overseeing support for more than 200 Trek dealers nationwide.
Previously, I led the service departments at King St Cyclery and Bikerepairs.com.au. Currently, I am involved in training the next generation of bike mechanics with 5 Star Training & Consulting, a registered training organisation. I train and assess industry trainees to achieve Certificate II and Certificate III qualifications in bicycle mechanics.
Beyond the bicycle retail and service sector, I have built long-standing and rewarding relationships with international cycling teams as a mechanic and consultant. These include the Australian Para-Cycling Team, Cycling New Zealand, and the United States Paralympics Cycling Team. I have had the privilege of travelling the world providing technical support for elite level cycling teams.
As an avid mountain biker, I enjoy all things cycling. I am a family man and have two sons who I love to ride with, enjoying the great outdoors. I care about my customers, have a technical mindset and outstanding proven capabilities in bicycle servicing and repairs.
