I feel extremely privileged to be part of such a great program.

I work for 5 Star Training and Consulting. We are a Registered Training Organisation that has been delivering both the Certificate II and III qualification in Bicycle Mechanics for over 7 years. We love what we do, and being part of this RPL program is another exciting opportunity.

Within this photo is Tim from MC Cyclery. He has been working as a bicycle mechanic for over 20 years. Mechanics like Tim are the backbone and unsung heroes of any bike business. However, because the bicycle mechanics qualification is not a requirement within the Australian Bicycle Industry, Tim has never had the opportunity to gain any nationally recognised documentation to support his skills.

The NSW Government is currently running a Trade Pathways Program to help experienced mechanics like Tim gain nationally recognised qualifications though Registered Training Organisations. This as a Fee-Free service, and a Recognition of Prior Learning pathway.

This program has also allowed Tim to identify any areas he may need to upskill to keep him current within the industry.
